for the Rocket Age!

In
the 1960's, PEZ began packaging their dispensers in cellophane
overwrap. Besides the dispenser, two packs of candy and
an insert were commonly found inside the packaging.

This
is one of my favorites! This is a picture of a RARE Psychedelic
Flower in cello! Notice the cool insert and the two packs
of "Flower" flavored candy! I would love to
own one of these! If you have one for sale... PLEASE contact
me!

Also
in the 1960's, PEZ started selling their dispensers in
vending machines. Because the cellophane wrap would not
hold up well to the mechanisms inside of a vending machine,
PEZ started putting the dispensers in vending boxes. Besides
the dispenser, the vending boxes contain two packs of
candy, and usually some type of paper insert. In this
picture, the Football Player vending box is shown. Notice
that the insert also had pennant stickers that a kid could
write the name of their favorite team on, and affix the
sticker onto the triangle "blank" on the stem.

Keeping
with the sports theme, in the 1960's PEZ sold a special
Baseball set that included a baseball glove and ball dispenser,
a baseball bat, and a home plate shaped stand for the dispenser
and bat. Because of the multiple pieces in the set, this
dispenser was sold in a special box. |

In
this picture is another example of a vending style box
for a Santa B. On the earlier vending boxes, the name
of the dispenser was prominantly printed on the side of
the box. Later vending boxes had a generic design, with
the name of the dispenser stamp printed on the end flap
of the box. Click
